Update on service bulletin 2016-01BIS. Fuel lines now available.
Problem: Our current supplier indicates that the life time of the used fuel lines in the kits mentioned above , can not exceed 1 year. After this period automotive fuel lines might harden and leak.
Inspection: check if the fuel lines are not leaking / damaged.
Solution: replace fuel lines.
Most hose suppliers advise to use PTFE (Teflon) hoses ( comply to SAE J1737 - lifetime 5 years) .
When using regular automotive fuel lines , make sure to check them before every flight and replace after 1 year. Most automotive fuel line suppliers are opposed to using these lines in aircrafts!
