The UL520T is based on the well proven  UL520 but now with a turbo charger
The main goal of this turbo is not to create a big boost in HP but  rather to compensate for the loss of atmospheric density during all phases of flight,  and thus eliminating the loss of power  seen with elevated altitudes. The UL520T maintains its 220HP from sea level up to 15000 ft.
An ASTM compliant version (with dual ECU) is available as well.

Power / Torque curve

The power and torque curve of the engine has been established by repeated dyno tests, which were performed at sea level and in weather conditions close to the ISA standard. The following graph shows the real, available power and torque coming from the crankshaft of the UL520T engine corrected to the International Standard Atmosphere conditions at sea level.

The specific fuel consumption is 0.3l/h/HP (0.08USgal/h/HP).
Depending on the type of aircraft, personal style of flying,…, the average fuel consumption during cruise is 33-41 l/hour 8 -11 USgal/hour).
